Hallo allemaal! Wat leuk om weer een blogpost te mogen schrijven. Vandaag ga ik wat schrijven over NLD en het behalen van je rijbewijs. Dat is misschien een gek onderwerp gezien de rijscholen en het Nederlandse Centraal Bureau Rijvaardigheidsbewijzen, afgekort CBR, voorlopig hun deuren moeten sluiten. Gelukkig gloort er licht aan het einde van de tunnel en komt er een moment waarop we weer rijles mogen nemen en theorie- en rijexamens mogen afleggen. Als je NLD hebt, kun je net als miljoenen andere mensen je rijbewijs halen. Alleen is het pad wat je moet bewandelen om dat felbegeerde roze pasje in handen te krijgen, wel wat complexer. Ik ga stap voor stap met je doornemen elke route je moet doorlopen.
De eerste stap is het zoeken van een geschikte rijschool. En dan kan een behoorlijke klus zijn. In Nederland kan deze link je misschien helpen om tot een goede keuze te komen. https://www.cbr.nl/nl/rijschoolzoeker.htm Het is belangrijk om niet alleen naar een goede prijs te kijken, maar ook zeker naar het slagingspercentage. Daarnaast kan het helpend zijn om een (telefoon)gesprek te voeren met meerdere rijscholen. De manier waarop ze jou te woord staan, kan vaak al veel zeggen. Let hierbij wel op dat je niet wordt gedwongen/verleid met te mooie aanbiedingen die later toch iets minder mooi blijken te zijn.
Als je een goede rijschool heb gevonden, ga je aan de slag met praktijklessen. Ik wens je alvast heel veel succes en rijplezier! De eerste les is spannend, dat weet ik uit eigen ervaring. Maar het komt goed, echt waar. Als je na een of twee rijlessen wat vertrouwen hebt gekregen in je rijinstructeur of -instructrice, is het verstandig om aan te geven dat je NLD hebt. Als mensen namelijk niet weten wat er met je aan de hand is, is het krijgen van begrip en een passende aanpak ook lastiger. De kans is groot dat hij/zij niet weet wat NLD is, simpelweg omdat NLD niet zo bekend is. Leg het rustig uit, dan zal hij/zij vast naar je willen luisteren.
Het is verstandig om tijdig een gezondheidsverklaring aan te vragen, zeker omdat je NLD hebt. Dat klinkt stom he, maar het is helaas wel de realiteit. Door je NLD moet je namelijk een langere procedure doorlopen. Ik zal de stapjes kort in jip-en-janneketaal uitleggen. Oké, daar gaan we. Ben je er klaar voor?
- Ga naar Mijn CBR en log in met je DigiD. Heb je deze niet? Vraag deze dan eerst aan (alleen voor inwoners van Nederland).
- Klik op ‘Gezondheidsverklaring invullen’. Ik weet zo niet uit mijn hoofd of een van de vragen is ‘Heb je NLD?’ is, maar de laatste vraag is sowieso ‘Is er iets wat niet is genoemd maar wel van invloed kan zijn op je rijvaardigheid?’ Dat antwoord is JA wanneer je NLD hebt. LET OP! De gezondheidsverklaring kost ongeveer 40 euro, die je direct online moet betalen na het invullen van de verklaring.
- Daarna krijg je een mail van het CBR met daarin hun actieplan. Dat kan wel verschillende werkdagen duren, zeker door de toenemende drukte bij het CBR vanwege de lockdown. Waarschijnlijk staat in dit actieplan dat je een rijtest moet doen bij het CBR. Dit is GEEN EXAMEN OF TOETS! Het doel van deze rijtest is dat het CBR krijgt of je bekwaam bent in het besturen van een auto, of jij in staat bent om de verantwoordelijkheid van een autobestuurder op je te nemen. Doe je best en ben jezelf, meer kun je niet doen. Probeer zo te denken: ‘Ik ga die meneer/mevrouw van het CBR laten zien dat ik het kan!’
- Als je de rijtest goed hebt afgelegd, krijg je je gezondheidsverklaring.
Wat ik nog wel moet vermelden, is dat het kan zijn dat je voordat je een rijtest moet afleggen, je nog op bezoek moet bij een psycholoog en/of psychiater. Hiervoor moet je zelf een afspraak maken. Ook hier is de wachttijd momenteel heel lang, ongeveer zo’n 4 maanden. Dus, tijdig een afspraak maken is écht noodzakelijk! Daarbij moet ik ook vermelden dat je de psycholoog/psychiater zelf moet betalen, dit kost momenteel zo’n 220 à 250 euro. - Als je je gezondheidsverklaring hebt gekregen, kun je je rijexamen aanvragen. Of ja, dat kan je instructeur doen. Natuurlijk doet hij/zij dat pas wanneer jij daar klaar voor bent, maar dat snap je denk ik wel 😉.

That may be a strange subject, given that driving schools and the Dutch Central Bureau for Driving Licenses, or CBR for short, have to close their doors for the time being. Fortunately, a light flashes at the end of the tunnel and there comes a moment when we can take driving lessons again and take theory and driving exams. If you have NVLD, you can get your driver's license like millions of other people. However, the path you have to walk to get your hands on that coveted pink pass is a bit more complex. I am going to walk you step by step through every route you have to take.
The first step is to find a suitable driving school. And then it can be quite a job. In addition, it can be helpful to have a (telephone) conversation with several driving schools. The way they speak to you can often say a lot. Please note that you are not forced / tempted with offers that are too attractive and that later turn out to be less attractive.
When you have found a good driving school, you start with practical lessons. I wish you a lot of success and driving pleasure! The first lesson is exciting, I know that from my own experience. But it will be fine, really. If after one or two driving lessons you have gained some confidence in your driving instructor or instructor, it is wise to indicate that you have NVLD. After all, if people don't know what's going on with you, understanding and an appropriate approach is also more difficult. Chances are he / she does not know what NVLD is simply because NVLD is not well known. Explain it calmly, then he / she will want to listen to you.
It is wise to request a health certificate in time, especially because you have NVLD. That sounds stupid, but unfortunately it is reality. Okay, here we go. Are you ready for it?
- Go to My CBR and log in with your DigiD. Don't have these? Apply for this first (only for residents of the Netherlands).
- Click on 'Complete health declaration'. I don't know by heart if one of the questions is 'Do you have NVLD?' is, but the last question is anyway 'Is there anything that has not been mentioned but could affect your driving skills?' That answer is YES when you have NVLD. PAY ATTENTION! The health certificate costs approximately 40 euros, which you must pay online immediately after completing the statement.
- You will then receive an email from the CBR with their action plan. This can take several working days, especially due to the increasing workload at the CBR due to the lockdown. This action plan probably states that you must take a driving test at the CBR. This is NOT AN EXAM OR TEST! The purpose of this driving test is for the CBR to determine whether you are proficient in driving a car, or whether you are able to take the responsibility of a car driver. Do your best and be yourself, that's all you can do. Try to think like this: "I'm going to show that mr / madam from the CBR that I can do it!"
- If you have passed the driving test, you will receive your health certificate.
What I do have to mention is that before you have to take a driving test, you may still need to visit a psychologist and / or psychiatrist. You must make an appointment for this yourself. Here, too, the waiting time is currently very long, about 4 months. So, making an appointment in time is really necessary! I must also mention that you have to pay the psychologist / psychiatrist yourself, this currently costs about 220 to 250 euros.
